The three farms which constitute the property are owned by a single public company, currently called iDube Investments Limited, which has three directors and numerous natural and juristic shareholders.

The current directors are:

Mr James Croswell
Mr Hendrik Verwey
Mr Vaughn Bricknell

The “real rights” to motorsport vest with the property and not the company and are still in place, as described in the Short History.

No other piece of real estate in KZN has such rights assigned to it which are equivalent to zoning under a Town Planning Scheme. It would take 2-3 years for a new site to undergo the necessary DFA and corresponding Environmental scrutiny bar the cost of the land alone.

It would be sad to let a site that so perfectly fits the needs of motorsport in KZN as a whole, let alone A1 Grand Prix, go to waste. As such, a Chinese Private Equity Fund is prepared to invest in the completion of the track, if political consensus can be reached, and then A1 can remain in KZN!
